Group Attribution Error
We assume all members of a group share the same opinions as an individual member.
Group attribution error is the biased belief that the characteristics of an individual group member are reflective of the group as a whole, or that a group's decision outcome must reflect the preferences of individual group members, even when information is available that clearly shows otherwise. This error contributes to stereotyping and political polarization.
