Social Comparison Bias
The tendency to feel dislike or competitiveness toward those perceived as superior, stemming from comparing ourselves to others.
This bias arises when we evaluate our own worth by comparing ourselves to others, often leading to negative feelings toward those who seem better off. It's rooted in social comparison theory, which suggests we naturally assess ourselves relative to peers. For example, feeling resentful of a colleague's promotion because it highlights your own career stagnation.
